Welcome to my blog page.

Well the annual get together was held at the Gloucester Folk Museum and the weather did us proud. There was a great turnout of bikes, members and visitors comimg to see some local history. It was good to see some new bikes at the show. its a good way for members to get to know each other and generally have a good natter.

The AGM went without a hitch and Bob Smith is busy with the next Quarterly magazine which everybody seemed to like the new format. Fred Clutterbuck will be taking some of his bikes to the MS charity motorshow which is being held at Quedgley, Gloucester over the August bank holiday. Ive been before and there are always a good turnout of bikes and cars to look around and a worthwhile charity too.

well, a new event coming up is the treasure hunt being held at old lodge minchinhampton, see the events page for times etc. the next quarterly magazine is due out soon and bob has been busy getting it ready so we will all eagerly await to see whats in store. Some people commented on my t shirt at the annual get together with the embroided badge, well, i am having some samples made of t shirts, sweatshirts, baseball caps and beanies and so when ive got them ill put them onto the website to see what members think and then if anyone wants an item, the club can start selling them

Well, what can i say. i turned up on a sunday afternon at Minchinhampton to be greeted by lots of members on various bikes. the sun was shining and after Stan eventually finding us we started off on the hunt. I can honestly say that after 2 hours and several rounds of what can only be described by people wandering around these small villages as wacky races. Bikes were going in all directions and at times all in the same village looking for the church.

a medal should go to Paul Powell who we decided must have pushed his bike around more than rode it and had a tardis type pocket with hundreds of spark plugs in it which were fitted and discarded quicker than Stans pint at the end of the event

Well Christmas is on its way, nights are getting darker and wetter, time to bring the bike in and start sorting out all the jobs that need doing before the spring. I have just bought a 1960 vulcan trials bike and this will be my winter project. it was a rolling sheel when bought hand painted a sickly green. i have painted the frame, forks and swing arm back to black. The tank been repainted red with black side panels and i hand painted the gold trim line. I must have had a good whiskey before as it looked quite good too. anyway, wheels are the next things i am going to sort out, hopefully this side of the new year.
